プロフィール

チューバ奏者として、Buffet Crampon Besson & B&SおよびMercer & Barker社の専任アーティストを務める。

指揮者として、ネクサスブラスバンド、リヴァーサイド・ブリティッシュブラス、イモータル・ブラス・エターナリーで常任指揮を務める。

東京ブラスバンド祭においてはマスバンドの総括を担当。また自身が主宰する河野企画の代表としても活動を行っている。

洗足学園音楽大学を卒業後、イギリスへ渡り英国王立ウェールズ音楽歌劇大学院（PGDip）を修了。大学院においては、ソロリサイタルにおける優れた業績が認められ、ブライアン・ギルヴァート賞を2年連続で授与された。

在学中、当時世界ランキング1位であったコーリーバンドに入団し、ウェールズ地区大会、ブラス・イン・コンサート、ヨーロピアン・ブラスバンド・チャンピオンシップスにおいて優勝。バンドの世界ランキング1位継続に貢献、国際的な音楽シーンでの地位を確立した。

帰国後は、海外バンドの日本ツアーに客演するとともに、日本国内の各地でソリストおよび指揮者として演奏を行っている。金管バンドの演奏活動のみならず、TV番組やアニメのレコーディング、オーケストラやアイドルのバックバンドとしても幅広い分野で活躍している。

2020年には、コロナ禍における困難な状況に直面した小中学生や音楽家たちを支援するためにクラウドファンディングを実施。世界各国約125名から¥1,300,000の支援金を集め、社会的貢献を果たした。

さらに、海外でのコンテストにおいては指揮者としてImmortal Brass Eternallyとともに『New Zealand National Brass Band Championships 2024』に出場し、Aグレードにおいて4位を獲得。国際的な舞台でもその実力を証明した。

また現在演奏活動の傍ら、ミュージックエイト社のエムハチポータルにおいて「金管バンドナビ」を連載中。

これまで、チューバを荻野晋、八尾健介、佐藤潔、ナイジェル・シーマンの各氏に師事。ブラスバンドに関する指導をロバート・”ボブ”・チャイルズ氏に学ぶ。また、日本ブラスバンド指導者協会の理事を務める。

中学校および高等学校第一種教諭免許状（音楽）、NPO法人総合福祉カウンセリングセンター認定基礎心理カウンセラー（認定証第19-0894）を所持。

Biography

After graduating from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama (PGDip) and leaving the Cory Band in Wales, U.K., Kazz Kouno is now an artist for Buffet Crampon Besson & B&S and Mercer & Barker. He is the conductor of Nexus Brass Band, Riverside British Brass, and Immortal Brass Eternally.

Additionally, he serves as a director of the Japan Brass Band Directors Association and is the chairman of Project Kouno and Brass Band Xepher.

During his time in Wales, he won the Scottish Open with Tongwynlais Temperance Band and secured victories at the Welsh Regional, the European Championships, and Brass in Concert with the Cory Band.

As a tuba soloist, he has performed with Tokyo Brass Society, Brass & Beat, Brass Band Xepher, Northern Crystal Band Sapporo, and Odaka Brilliant Brass. He was also a guest soloist and tutor at the Brass Band Camp in Hamamatsu and has been invited to conduct brass bands across Japan.

Kazz Kouno is dedicated to brass and wind music education, teaching brass bands, wind bands, and individual brass instrumentalists in various locations. He also organizes events that create opportunities for people to engage with and enjoy music.
